After earning his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Mr. Paster gained experience in the field of underground and trenchless construction while filling various roles for an internationally recognized company specializing in shoring and guided auger boring. At Brierley Associates, he is responsible for assisting in the design, field exploration, and construction phase services of various trenchless, tunnel, and geotechnical projects.

In his previous position as a guided auger boring consultant for a tunneling systems company, Mr. Paster was a certified pilot tube guided auger boring systems operator and possesses extensive field experience, a selection of which can be seen below. Responsibilities included project management, contract negotiation and document preparation, equipment selection and design, geotechnical analysis, project engineering, specifications and submittals writing, and equipment operation. He has over ten years of experience working on trenchless and underground projects for sewer, water, wastewater, electrical, gas, fiber optic, drainage, remediation, railroad, underground storage, ground stabilization, and other applications.

Dan’s experience as an operator of guided trenchless systems includes installations ranging in length up to 440 feet, often with extremely tight line and grade tolerances in close proximity to existing utilities and structures, using various pipe materials from 4 inches to 46 inches in diameter through a variety of soil types. He has given educational presentations at various industry events such as the Colorado School of Mines Microtunneling & Pilot Tube Short Courses, North American Society for Trenchless Technology local and international conferences, Underground Construction Technology International Conferences, Trenchless Technology webinar with attendees from over 15 countries, and at many engineering firms around North America. He has also co-authored articles for an assortment of publications such as Underground Construction and Trenchless Technology.
